XML-short for eXtensible Mark-up Language-is a new Web page mark-up language being developed by the W3C. XML is a stripped-down version of SGML. It allows you to create customized tags to provide functionality not available with HTML. XML supports links that point to multiple documents, as opposed to HTML links, which can reference just one destination each.
