These corporate systems are designed to be reliable, easily serviced and remotely managed. All are DMI-compliant for simple networking setup. This line is highlighted by a 200MHz machine in the $2,000 range. The system includes 16MB of SDRAM (expandable to 64MB), 256KB of pipeline-burst level 2 cache, Intel's 430VX chipset, a 1.6GB hard drive, a 15-inch Trinitron monitor, S3 Trio V+64-bit integrated PCI video with 2MB of DRAM and a Sony 8X CD-ROM drive. Dell OptiPlex GXpro & Dimension XPS Pro Families
The powerful OptiPlex GXpro line is highlighted by 200MHz Pentium Pro units. The 200MHz models come with Windows NT 3.51 installed and DIMM memory that uses a 64-bit data path. Some systems also feature a 2GB Seagate IDE hard disk and an NEC 4X CD-ROM drive. In certain models, a Number Nine Imagine 128 Series 2 graphics card (with 4MB of VRAM) is included. HP Pavilion Family
Hewlett-Packard doesn't leave much out of its Pavilions. The multimedia Pavilion 7285, for one, is equipped with a 200MHz Pentium, 32MB of EDO RAM and 256KB of pipeline-burst level 2 cache. A Quantum Fireball 3.1GB hard drive, 3.5-inch floppy drive and Goldstar 8X CD-ROM drive are also included. Some models provide a 28.8Kb-per-second modem and a telephony software suite. With built-in wavetable sound, a pair of Altec Lansing speakers and MPEG playback support on the video chipset, these models take multimedia seriously. Toshiba Infinia Family
The Toshiba shark-gray Infinia line is a fierce, sleek creature. Part of a new class of ultrachic, high-performance machines, it breaks new ground in features, ergonomics and design. The unit has a mini-tower case with a sculpted front and a stylish monitor (sold separately). The 0.28mm dot-pitch display is sharp at resolutions up to 1280x1024 pixels, and the system's integrated graphics subsystem offers good performance.
