Microsoft Solution Provider Octopus Technologies (recently acquired by Qualix Group of San Mateo, Calif.) aims to make your disasters less painful with its disaster recovery and fault-tolerance software. The company's Octopus 2.0 offering comes with Super ASO (Automatic Switch Over), which allows any Windows NT server to assume the functions of a downed NT server in less than 1 second. This protection is provided by Octopus across LANs and WANs on a per-file basis.
Octopus 2.0 also features an intuitive user interface and completely configurable data synchronization (even for open files). It's available for all certified NT Server hardware platforms (Intel, Digital Alpha, Mips and PowerPC) and complies with Microsoft's BackOffice logo requirements.
