I have read many articles concerning software piracy in various countries. In my country of Pakistan, there have never been any ads in newspapers or on television about dealers selling original software. If Microsoft or other software companies want to reduce the percentage of pirated software, they must advertise in those countries. I have yet to see a single original copy of Windows 95, except for the one that came installed in my system. The nearest Microsoft dealer for Pakistan is located in India, and I don't think anyone wastes phone bills, faxes or time contacting them. Instead, people buy the pirated CD version of Win95 for only $16. These CDs also contain so much additional software that one would be crazy to seek out an original copy when the pirated version is such a great deal. I would advise the software industry to consider this matter.
